Description
Yauemon Shuawa “Pearl” is an ideal aperitif. It’s not too fizzy and not too sweet like for example prosecco. The has a nice texture due to low filtering and lower ABV compared to other sake. And it does not break a bank lake many champagnes. Pearl is fruity and light-bodied with crisp honey, melon date and grapefruit flavours. It’s gently bittersweet and refreshing with balanced acidity and grapefruit, black sugar and melon notes in the taste.
It’s very nice to drink in the shade on a hot summer day. You can always complement it with snacks or a light dish like cream cheese, smoked salmon, oysters, truffle honey, avocado, fruit salad. As another idea, you can serve it as a pre-dinner drink. It looks and tastes classy and different from usual fizzy alcoholic drinks. Overall, it’s one of my favourite sparkling sake.
Yamatogawa Brewery was founded in 1790 and has been brewing sake for nine generations since then. The brewery uses organic sake rice grown with pesticide-reduced chemical-free fertilizers in its own rice fields as well as on contract farms.
