Description

This sake is a tokubetsu junmai type of the Rumiko no Sake brand, made from two rice varieties: Yamada Nishiki (25%) and the local to Mie Prefecture Isenishiki (75%), both polished to the ginjo level. Rumiko no Sake Tokubetsu Junmai has a delicate fruity aroma of green apple and strawberry, with some rice and even lollypop notes. The taste is complex and sweet with a long finish, soft texture, a bit of spiciness and a nice kick at the end.

There is a touching story of the current owner of the Moriki sake brewery, Rumiko Moriki, who was inspired by a story from a manga called Natsuke’s Sake. Rumiko san had a completely different job in Tokyo when her father was taken ill and could not brew sake anymore. She and her fiance decided to give up their comfortable city life and trade it for hard work at the family brewery. During the first years Rumiko discovered a beautiful Natsuke no Sake manga, which became her inspiration.
